Put down your phone, pick up a brush, and make something you'll actually hang on your wall.

A relaxing paint and sip setup at Pinot's Palette in Summerlin

I’ll be honest—lately, my brain has felt like a web browser with about fifty tabs open. Between managing projects, keeping up with the news, and the general mental load of daily life, finding time to actually turn my brain off has felt nearly impossible.

When I was looking for new things to do in Summerlin Las Vegas that didn't involve staring at another screen, I realized something: we put so much pressure on our weekends to be our only source of relaxation. But why do we have to wait for Saturday to decompress?

I decided to take a random Thursday afternoon entirely for myself and booked a session at Pinot’s Palette at Boca Park. It ended up being the best decision I made all week.

🍷 Unplugging at the Door

The moment you walk into the studio, you instantly feel your shoulders drop. The space is warm, inviting, and entirely unhurried. I made a conscious choice to put my phone away at the door, tied on my apron, and sat down at an easel with a glass of wine. No notifications. No scrolling. Just a blank canvas, a brush, and a few hours of total peace.

Let me preface this by saying: I didn't think I was a painter. I am creative in my daily work, but I fully expected to leave with something that looked a bit chaotic. I couldn't have been more wrong. The instructors guide you through the process so gently and naturally that the pressure completely vanishes. You’re just sipping your wine, mixing colors, getting lost in the strokes, and suddenly, you’ve created something genuinely beautiful. I left with a painting I actually want to hang on my wall.

✨ Not Just a Weekend Night Out

We usually think of a paint and sip in Summerlin Las Vegas as a loud, crowded weekend activity. While their Friday and Saturday nights are undeniably fun, the weekday afternoon classes are the ultimate hidden gem for a mental reset.

A few things that make this studio stand out:

  • They run classes every day of the week. You don't have to wait for the weekend to take a breather.
  • It’s an incredible activity for teens. Their regular classes are open to ages 13 and up. If you want to get your teenager off their phone and actually connecting with you, this is it.
  • Family Days: If you have younger kids, they host dedicated Family Day classes on the weekends for ages 7 and up.

If you are a woman in Vegas carrying a heavy mental load right now, consider this your sign to pick up a brush. No experience needed. No phone. Just show up and give yourself permission to unplug.
